Compliance

Why you can’t start work yet

Disclosure, then contract, then cooling-off, then active. The order is enforced and cannot be skipped.

What you are seeing

Messages like "No dispute work may be performed while enrollment is ‘pending’" or "Contract cannot be signed before the Consumer Credit File Rights disclosure is signed" mean a step is out of order.

These come from the Credit Repair Organizations Act. Charging or working ahead of this sequence is the single most commonly enforced violation in this industry, so the product refuses rather than warns.

The required order

  • Deliver the Consumer Credit File Rights disclosure.
  • The client signs the disclosure.
  • The client signs the contract. This cannot happen before the disclosure is signed.
  • The cooling-off period runs.
  • You activate the enrollment. Only now may work begin.

Signature capture

Two things are required at signing: the client must explicitly confirm, and the typed name must match the client’s full name exactly. A near-match is rejected — this is what makes the signed record hold up later.

Terminated enrollments

"Enrollment is terminated; no further transitions allowed" is final. A terminated enrollment cannot be revived. Create a new enrollment for that client if they return.
